He has been instrumental in establishing the Come Clean Florida coalition as the vehicle for achieving these reforms.

Ryan Petty

Candidate for School Board (at large)

To honor the memory of our daughter Alaina, killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, my wife Kelly and I have been working to find solutions to the problems facing our schools. The Parkland tragedy and the death of my daughter opened my eyes to one of the challenges facing our schools in Broward County, school safety. Petty is running for Broward County School Board (at large)  to do everything he can to keep  students and teachers safe in our schools, to ensure that every student receives a quality education and to make the Broward County School District the best school district in the nation. We must prioritize school safety so that our students and teachers will feel safe at school and in their classrooms. Only then can we deliver the quality education our students deserve, one that enables each student to reach their full potential. This means we must start having real conversations about school safety. Our Broward County School Board must do a better job of overseeing the District's operating budget and the implementation & effectiveness of key initiatives and programs.

 Dr. Richard Mendelson
